How to join iEx.ec’s Crowdsale
iExec is the first blockchain-based fully distributed cloud computing platform. iExec relies on the Ethereum blockchain to organize a market of computing resources where everyone can monetize servers, applications and data-sets.
RLC is the token that will allow their holders to access the computing resources within the iEx.ec network. This is an ERC20-compliant digital asset on Ethereum, which basically means that you have full control over your tokens. Once the set of smart contracts is deployed on the Ethereum blockchain, nobody can modify the code. That is, it lives and autonomously runs on the blockchain.

iExec’s crowdsale starts on April 19th at 13:00 PM GMT. The following post will explain how to join the crowdsale. Participants have two solutions to join the crowdsale :
- Participate directly through the iExec smart contract
- Invest using a third party platform like ICO365.com, ICOage or imToken
Using the iExec Smart contract: BTC or ETH only.
For your contribution, you need an Ethereum address in both cases
If you don’t have one ready yet, the first thing you need to do is to create an Ethereum address to store your RLC tokens. A ‘secured address’ means that you make sure your private key is properly stored. This is super important because if you ever lose this private key, you will also lose your RLC tokens and there is no existing way to recover.
Don’t send currencies from an exchange! If you do so, you may not be able to retrieve your tokens.
You can use MyEtherWallet, Metamask, Parity, Mist or Ledger (hardware wallet). Again, remember to backup your wallet and store the backup securely! If you don’t, you may loose all your token permanently. There is no other way to recover your wallet.
The crowdsale contract address is the following:

The minimum contribution amount is set to:
- 1 ETH
- 0.05 BTC
You can pay using Bitcoin only the first 24 hours, from April 19th 13:00 PM UTC to April 20th 13:00 PM UTC.
How to create a secured Ethereum address on MyEtherWallet
Step 1
Go to https://www.myetherwallet.com, choose a strong password and click on the “Generate Wallet” button.
Step 2
Click on the “Download” button. You just have downloaded a copy of your wallet on your computer. Now store this file securely. Read the important message carefully, then click on the “I understand. Continue” button.
Step 3
We strongly recommend you to print a paper wallet. For this, click the “Print” button.
Copy the “Private Key (unencrypted)” in your clipboard (Ctrl-C).
Step 4
Now click on “Save your address” button in order to unlock your wallet. Select the second option from the list “Private Key”.
Paste your “Private Key” that was selected before. You can now see the wallet and your public Ethereum address (that will receive the RLC tokens).
You now have a secured Ethereum address! Remember this address, you will use it to participate on the crowdsale web site.
Step 5
Pay with ETH
1. Go to http://crowdsale.iex.ec
2. Accept terms and conditions by checking the tick and click on “contribute now”
3. Copy the unique official contract address by clicking on “Copy address”. 0xec33fB8D7c781F6FeaF2Dd46D521D4F292320200
4. Using your wallet of convenience, send to this address the amount of Ethers you want send.
You’re done!
Pay with BTC
1. Go to http://crowdsale.iex.ec
2. Accept terms and conditions by checking the tick and click on “contribute now”
3. Enter your Ethereum public address in the field
4. Tick the capcha button and Click on “Submit address”
5. We generate a specific BTC address for you
6. Send a BTC transaction to this address.
Each time you return to this page and use the same ETH address for BTC payment, you will receive the same BTC address to send BTCs to.
Step 6
After successfully completed all steps described so far, you’re done! You have successfully acquired your own RLC tokens.
The RLC token are distributed immediately when the contribution has been sent to the smart contract. However the token smart contract is locked until the end of the crowdsale. This means that your tokens will be transferable and tradeable right after the end of the crowdsale.
How to obtain ETH or BTC ?
You can change your fiat using regulated exchanges platforms like Gatecoin.com, Kraken.com or Coinhouse.io, and many more. Please consult coinmarketcap.com for a complete list of exchange platforms.
We recommend the following Bitcoin wallets: Ledger, Green Address, Mycelium.
If you have other cryptocurrencies, you can use Shapeshift to convert them into ETH or BTC (fees are low).
Invest using ICO365.com
We signed an agreement with ICO365.com, which is a recently established Chinese investment platform. It’s probably the easiest way to join the crowdsale from China. Just log on http://ico365.com and click on iExec campaign, then follow the instructions: you’ll be allowed to invest using your credit card. It’s in Chinese for the moment but the automatic translation will help you to go through the payment process.
Invest using imToken
imToken is an Android and iOS mobile app that supports RLC token. You can download the app on imToken website. If needed, you can find tutorials and demo video at this page.
