TalentLayer Implements iExec for Privacy-Centric Email Marketing

TalentLayer, an open data ecosystem and protocol for the hiring sector, has adopted the iExec tech stack to boost privacy in email marketing for hiring platforms. Using blockchain, TalentLayer provides a peer-to-peer platform, allowing users to fully own their data.

iExec’s recent Web3Mail tool, released in July as npm code packages, facilitates email communication using only public wallet addresses, keeping actual email address data hidden. TalentLayer is incorporating Web3Mail into their open-source frontend, StarterKit, on the iExec Sidechain. This brings better communication, increased privacy, and an enriched user experience, countering issues like data exposure or fake email usage.

This collaboration underscores TalentLayer’s commitment to user privacy and optimal experience. We eagerly await further innovations from TalentLayer, reshaping the future of hiring, secured by iExec.

Peanut Protocol Uses iExec for Private Crypto Transactions

Using iExec, Peanut Protocol has developed a prototype to enhance user privacy in crypto transactions on public blockchains. Leveraging iExec’s Trusted Execution Environment and Peanut Protocol’s confidential crypto asset ‘vouchers’, the system allows private transactions. Users deposit funds, receive a private voucher, and later use it without revealing their identities. The prototype includes a Solidity escrow contract, an iExec TEE app for vouchers, and a NodeJS app for user interactions. The initiative, though still in prototype, marks a significant step for blockchain privacy.

iExec uses Trusted Execution Environments (TEEs) to protect sensitive data. Specifically, they use Intel SGX hardware enclaves to create secure memory zones, ensuring data safety. iExec implements multiple functionalities to provide holistic encryption, including app developer secrets, confidential datasets, and result encryptions. Detailed information can be found in the iExec documentation.

As blockchain technology evolves, the need to ensure user privacy on both on-chain and off-chain identities becomes imperative. The collaboration between Peanut Protocol and iExec marks a pivotal movement toward safer and more private transactions on public blockchains. Although still in the prototype phase and not yet public, this initiative signifies a leap towards a secure, private, and user-friendly blockchain world.

iExec used to Power a Decentralized Carbon Capture Supply Chain Trust project

iExec is being used for the Carbon Capture Supply Chain Trust (CAST) Project. This project aims to aid carbon capture efforts across Europe, aligning with the EU’s ambition of achieving a net-zero greenhouse gas emissions economy.

Carbon capture processes involve an extensive supply chain with numerous stakeholders. Currently, these mechanisms rely on a central authority to distribute carbon certificates. Such a centralized model poses significant risks, particularly concerning the system’s integrity.

Marcel Muller, with JadenX, is pioneering a decentralized approach to address these challenges. By employing this method, involved parties can offer attestations, thereby ensuring the process remains secure and protected against breaches. Marcel’s solution harnesses the iExec sidechain to tap into the benefits of blockchain technology. This approach ensures traceability in the carbon capture process, making it more transparent and accountable.

Beyond providing technological support, iExec’s involvement in the project signifies its commitment to fostering European sustainability initiatives. The company remains passionate about supporting eco-friendly projects, reflecting its vision of creating a positive global impact.

We look forward to communicating more on this project as it progresses.

H.E.R. DAO Partners with iExec to Build Using the Stack

H.E.R. DAO is a womxn focused developer DAO committed to increasing diversity and inclusion in Web3. H.E.R. DAO had a great showing during the @ETHGlobal Paris Hackathon, with 30 Members winning 26 prizes totaling $53K.

Their most recent hackathon project was built shortly after ETHCC which used iExec Web3Mail developer tools to create a secure and newsletter service, where emails are sent to registered users, using their Ethereum addresses, without their email addresses ever being revealed.

Keep an eye out for the upcoming Twitter Spaces sessions where HerDAO members will talk about their experience using the iExec tech stack, how they envision the impact/potential of iExec’s tech stack, and what challenges iExec help overcome.

iExec Joins Intel Partner Alliance as a Gold Member

We’re thrilled to announce iExec’s elevation to a Gold Membership within the Intel Partner Alliance, cementing our longstanding collaboration with Intel. This solidifies iExec’s ongoing collaboration with Intel, emphasizing their collective drive towards integrating Confidential Computing with Blockchain technologies.

Over the past 5 years, the collaboration between iExec and Intel has yielded significant progress. The two tech giants jointly unveiled the first-ever solution integrating confidential computing and blockchain during the Consensus 2018 event in New York City. Their partnership furthered with the creation of the Off-Chain Trusted Compute Specification, a pioneering project for the Ethereum Enterprise Alliance (EEA) consortium. Other collaborative feats include research papers, Proofs-of-Concept, and a standout demo involving 5G-equipped ‘rescue robots’ exhibited at the 2019 Mobile World Congress.

iExec and Intel, under the Intel AI Builder Program, developed a mechanism for AI model renting. This system permits owners to monetize their AI assets securely. For instance, the AI Car Detection app (watch here) showcases this in action, where AI model owners can lease their models, ensuring their intellectual property is safeguarded using iExec’s confidential computing, Intel SGX, and blockchain.

Transitioning into the Intel Partner Alliance Program from the former Intel AI Builders initiative, iExec, as a Gold Member, is poised to expand its range of privacy-centric solutions. The company aspires to persist as an innovation leader in this dynamic sector. Currently, iExec is engrossed in implementing Intel TDX (Trust Domain Extensions). This technology prioritizes data confidentiality and protection by establishing isolated zones termed “trust domains”. These can synergize with Intel SGX hardware enclaves, with SGX targeting application-level confidential computing, and TDX providing VM-level security. This exploration paves the way for an upcoming, exciting use case.

More Bounties, Hackathons, and Workshops to Strengthen Developer Engagement

In an era where data privacy and protection are paramount, iExec leads the charge by actively fostering a community of developers familiar with its cutting-edge technology stack. Over the next few weeks, iExec is sponsoring hackathons, organizing bounties (grant funding), and conducting workshops, positioning its technology forefront in the developer community, showcasing how seamlessly it integrates with dapps for superior privacy and data protection.

Recently, iExec unveiled its Privacy-Enhanced Marketing solutions which include two groundbreaking tools: iExec DataProtector and iExec Web3Mail. These developer tools aim to revolutionize the way DApps handle data privacy and communication.

iExec DataProtector is a revolutionary tool that empowers developers with the capabilities to design applications where users can grant permissions for their data usage without revealing the data itself. This developer too is instrumental in ensuring data privacy, governance, and ownership. By harnessing the power of Confidential Computing end-to-end encryption combined with blockchain, DataProtector offers unmatched ownership and security over personal data. Furthermore, with the available npm package, integrating this innovative feature into applications is now simpler than ever.

On the other hand, iExec Web3Mail offers an innovative solution for DApp developers to reach out to registered Ethereum account holders. With Web3Mail, it’s possible to email Ethereum users directly without needing to know or store their actual email addresses. Think about the vast possibilities this offers: Sending crucial notifications, promotions, or updates directly to Ethereum users while ensuring their email addresses remain anonymous. This tool, available via npm packages, is set to redefine Web3 marketing strategies. Engagement is incentivized as individuals can earn with each communication received.

Together, iExec’s DataProtector and Web3Mail are not just tools, but the bedrock of a new Web3 ecosystem that marries privacy, user-centricity, and efficient communication channels.
