My name is Dr. Ellen Britt, and I help entrepreneurs leverage the power of intermittent fasting to transform their bodies, their businesses, and their lives.

One main problem that my students and clients have when it comes to being an entrepreneur, and getting and keeping weight off, is they simply cannot believe they are capable of doing intermittent fasting.

They have zero confidence in themselves that they could go for hours and hours without eating, and not simply roll over and die. Or if not actually dying, then at least getting hangry enough to hurt somebody.

And they feel this way because it’s not that most of them have tried fasting, it’s just that they’ve tried diets before where they were asked to restrict how much they ate, and they remember quite clearly just how miserable they felt.

Or if they have tried fasting, it was likely because they were having a medical test and their doctor said nothing to eat or drink after midnight, They were not happy that they had to skip breakfast. And once that test was over, they made a beeline to the nearest fast food joint to get something to eat.

If you have experienced a calorie-restricted diet before, then you know exactly how it feels to be constantly hungry, and having to force yourself to wait until you can eat again.

Only the next time you eat, the portions are so small, or it’s all so low calorie that you find yourself hungry all over again 15 minutes later.

Your body and your brain can only put up with this feeling of starvation for so long before it gives in and you cave to those doughnuts or that slice of pie or that bowl of ice cream or whatever your favorite food happens to be.

This is a frustrating and discouraging place to be because it not only affects your life, it negatively affects your business.

Because once again, you failed to complete the latest diet plan that everyone was talking about. You just about give up hope of finding anything that will help you to feel better about yourself.

So your business suffers because, at your core, you feel terrible about yourself, not only about the way you look but about the way you feel inside, about your lack of so-called willpower and your lack of discipline.

You start to think to yourself, that maybe your family and friends were right that you will never get and keep that weight off.

Well, fortunately for you, there is another way.

What if I were to tell you, there is one simple way to eat and live that does not depend on your willpower, or discipline or restricting your calories and that this way will not only transform your body, it will totally change the way you show up in your business and in your life.

Let me illustrate this with an example from my own life.

I didn’t begin to struggle with my weight until after I hit middle age. And then when menopause arrived, oh boy.

it seemed like I could just look at pictures of food and gain weight. I tried all the diets, the Zone diet, the Atkins diet, the South Beach diet, even a raw foods diet.

And yes, like many of you, I had some temporary success. But let me underscore the word “temporary.”

Once my body and brain tired of the calorie restriction, the diet went out the window, and the weight, along with more came rushing back. And I felt completely helpless to stop it.

And I had absolutely no concept of what it would mean to switch my body over to fat burning, much less any idea of how to do it. In fact, I don’t even think I knew the concept even existed.

All I knew was that whenever I was forced by these diets to restrict my calories, I was miserable and that it was only a matter of time before my body and brain would cry Uncle, and I would cave.

The weight would return and I would retreat for a while to my usual eating habits until the next new diet arrived on the scene and then I would try again, only to fail once more.

The worst part about all of this is I was hiding out in my business.

I had no confidence in myself, my energy was too low to even register, and I was embarrassed about my appearance and ashamed of my repeated failures.

And I felt completely hopeless to be able to do anything about it.

But everything changed when I found out about intermittent fasting and how to switch my body from burning glucose all the time to burning fat, the very fat that was stored in those unwanted pounds on my body.

And I also found out that when the switch to fat-burning was complete, I would no longer feel hungry while fasting, and those hangry episodes so familiar to me with previous “diets” would become a thing of the past.

I began daily intermittent fasting on May 18 (2018), and I have lost not only nearly 40 pounds of fat but as I like to say, I also lost nearly 10 years when I compare how I looked and felt before I began this way of eating and living.

Here’s me on the left at my fattest. Yes, I can use that word because at 172 pounds that is exactly what I was. And there I am on the right, just six months into my IF practice wearing size six skinny jeans, and I am at goal at 133 pounds.

My confidence in myself has been restored, and I am no longer afraid to be visible, either in my life or in my work.

But here’s what I want you to understand. If you think you can’t do intermittent fasting because you have to have your meals and your snacks and your snacks in-between snacks and another snack before bed, then I respectfully disagree.

You can switch to fat mode while fasting. Yes, it takes a week or two and for some folks a bit longer.

And yes, some people have a bit of a bumpy flight at the beginning until they have made the switch. But what is waiting for you in that new land is freedom.

Freedom from diets, from calorie restriction, from feeling hungry because you can’t eat this or that, and all the no’s you have to put up with when you’re dieting.

And please remember, everyone is different. The first few days after beginning IF can be a bit rocky for some people.

Other folks will cruise through. And some people will do well for the first few days only to be really hungry for the next few.

Your body is used to burning glucose for fuel and will try its best when you are beginning to convince you that you are starving and will die if you don’t eat.

Once you have burned through your stored glycogen (and this takes more time for some than others), you will switch to fat-burning mode during your fasting time. You will be amazed how you won’t feel hungry while fasting, your energy will increase and your mood will be good.

The thing to remember is IF is not a “diet.” It’s a way of eating that resets your appetite, rebalances your hormones, and sets you free from the tyranny of endless cycles of weight loss followed by weight gain.

All that I ask of you is this: It doesn’t matter how many diets you’ve tried in the past and how many times you failed, or even how many pounds you’ve lost and then regained, intermittent fasting is waiting for you.

There is no failure with IF as tomorrow, there is always another fast.

Please forgive yourself for all those failed diet attempts in the past. Because you see, it’s never been a matter of discipline or willpower that makes one successful at getting and keeping weight off. It’s a matter of tapping into your body’s innate biological power. And practicing IF allows you to do just that.

Thank you so much for watching this video, and if you happen to know of anyone else who would benefit from watching this, please feel free to share it with them.

Till next time, and I will see you very soon.
