“If You Want To” wins Rushlight 2017 Sustainability Initiative Award
What an extraordinary day last Wednesday, January 25th, was!
My friends at Impact Hub Westminster had spoken very highly of the Rushlight events, of their pioneering spirit, curiosity and welcoming community. So I entered our project “If You Want To” in the Sustainability Initiative Award category.
In the morning, I had the opportunity to give an introduction to the project and to man a stand with Woon Tan in the beautiful Webb Johnson Hall of The Royal College of Surgeons of England in the hearth of London. This section of the Rushlight 2017 Showcase was mainly dedicated to services, with the main hall more focused on hardware solutions.
Peers, journalists and visitors tried out “If You Want To” and all discovered something new and unexpected. The general reaction was overwhelmingly positive, and by 5pm, when the exhibition closed, we were pretty satisfied.
An hour later, the Awards party started. We were not expecting to win any Awards, so when I was called to collect the Rushlight 2017 Award for Sustainability Initiative, my surprise was truly genuine.
When a group of people like us put so much time, thought and effort to make an idea come true, because we feel that “it can make the world a better place”, awards like this, give so much confidence, energy and thrust. We feel regenerated!
A heartfelt thank you to Mr John Loughhead, to the judges, to Clive Hall and the Rushlight 2017 team!
