Our tandem — The Big Banana
While cycling in Harpers Ferry, West Virginia, we heard a girl laughing and saying to her girlfriends: “Look at the Big Banana”…with of course a Big Banana smile!
It summarizes the positive vibes of our dear Tandem. People smile seeing us connected by the same faith, wonder who is really pedaling the most, are boggled by how we stand up and are still friends after being 1 meter apart for some many hours.
The unusual sight of the tandem is like a dog in Brooklyn. It is a conversational starter for the proud owners. Maybe we won’t find a future date, but maybe a great new friend and shelter for the night. Like the dog owners, we pay much care to the bike, emotionally and mechanically. Better to pay attention to our friendly bike as it carries us through the day!
The Tandem Choice.
One little practical secret: tandem bike makes the 2 cyclists closer… It all started because of that. When on 2 different bikes, it was annoying traveling experience as we were different pace. One had to wait for the latter or the latter had hastened the pace and couldn’t enjoy the ride. One solution: a tandem and we will never wait or fasten the pace again. After a 1stweek end after renting a bike at Tandem East, in New Jersey, we knew we had our solution for Happy Coupled Rides.
