We take a look at some specifics and challenges of building the ultimate games database and the API to rule them all! It’s all about gaming: No Games Left Behind!

A while back we talked about the difficulties of keeping track of gaming through history, how there are so many games with so much information to keep in mind. As hard as it is for the hardcore gamer to search for something old and nostalgic, it can be just as painful for the average gamer to find the next title for his/her gaming collection. With so many video games being released on a daily basis, it can be both bothersome and hard to look for new games, especially if you don’t know where to look or what to look for. That’s where we might be able to help you.

Head over to IGDB.tv for our non-stop stream of upcoming trailers: https://www.igdb.com/igdbtv

IGDB TV has been around for quite some time now, but it can still be seen as a hidden gem as not many people are aware of the service. The concept is really simple: We collect all the latest trailer (thanks to our database) and stream them, making it easy for you to go through new titles without having to actively search for them.

The Division 2 on IGDB TV

You can watch it on your computer or tablet, on the go alone or together with your friends. It has a good mix of everything: from Tripe-A to smaller indie games that might catch your interest! We have both teasers, trailers and gameplay videos from all around the world. It’s easy to play and pause, turn off the sound and move on to the next clip.

If there’s a trailer you don’t like, you can easily skip it!

Every trailer has the title, the platform it will be released on, as well as the date of release. Most of the games also has the game cover on the side.

If you click the cover or the title, it will direct you to its game page where you can learn more about the product!

I, myself sometimes use IGDB TV while sitting on the train or the bus with nothing to do. As a fan of Japanese titles, I found a game the other day that really caught my interest called Disaster Report 4 Plus: Summer Memories. I didn’t know anything about this franchise until I saw the trailer. It gave me insight to a whole new series that I’m now very curious about.

An action-adventure game and the fourth title in the Disaster Report series.
A visually pleasing looking indie game called Crime Code.

No matter if the video game is big or small, hyped or unseen, IGDB TV can help you discover something new and unique. It might even challenge you to try something unexpected!

Another cool thing is that you can use it while doing other things, may it be studies or work. A streamer on Twitch, for example, streams IGDB TV between his gameplay or during breaks so that viewers have something to do while they wait for him to return. If you have a Twitch channel and would like to do the same, let us know. We’re always happy to work with others!

We will continue to work hard for our community, with interesting tools that are more than just fun. They should and will also be educating and helpful. As we build, update and edit, we’ll share the progress with you guys along the way. Stay tuned for more news!
