It takes 20 years to build a reputation and five minutes to ruin it. If you think about that, you’ll do things differently.” — Warren Buffett

The man has a point. A very good one, actually. It should not come as news, or as a surprise, to anyone that reputation is King within the Ignite RATINGS platform. It is the rocket fuel that powers everything we do and everything that the platform was built for.

In the below video, I attempt to explain how reputation within the Ignite ecosystem determines influence and, importantly, the powers that that influence bestows upon our platform users. If you have no desire to listen to me talking to myself for quarter of an hour, the crib notes go pretty much something like this:

  1. Reputation must be earned, it will not be gifted;
  2. Reputation can be lost, as well as gained;
  3. Reputation determines your influence on other users, and on asset ratings;
  4. Influence is increased, or decreased, in line with your reputation; and
  5. Reputation is worth protecting.

Essentially, the platform should be naturally intuitive for its users, as it has been designed to mimic real-world social interaction. The analogy I use in my video is, I believe, a great way to visualise how Ignite reputation works…but I won’t provide any spoilers here, you’ll have to watch the video for that, which I hope you will!
