DRAGONBALL! NARUTO! ONE PIECE! Did you know that there is a theme park in Tokyo based on a number of globally successful Japanese anime? The theme park “J-WORLD TOKYO” is located in the large-scale commercial facility Sunshine City in the vicinity of Ikebukuro Station, Tokyo.

J-WORLD TOKYO theme park is located in Sunshine City, a large recreational facility near Ikebukuro station. The theme park contains attractions such as interactive games, a food court, and a merchandise store — all, of course, themed around popular Japanese anime. It is a perfect destination for anime fans, children and adults alike.

Center Core

Just beyond the ticket booth there is a 360-degree interactive exhibition called ‘Center Core’. Select your favorite character on the interactive screen and an animated version of the character will appear on the wall and speak to you. Even when nobody selects a character, the screen is programmed to bring up selected characters at regular intervals to greet visitors.

ONE PIECE

Turning left after leaving the Center Core brings you to the ONE PIECE section of the theme park. This section includes a merry-go-round featuring the Shiro Mokuba (White Hobby Horse) that appears in ONE PIECE. Once the merry-go-round starts moving, Brook appears and starts singing as it rotates. This is certainly an unmissable attraction for Brook fans.

CAFE MADEMOISELLE

Next to the merry-go-round is Café Mademoiselle, the café run by Sanji in ONE PIECE.

Beyond the café, there are numerous attractions which bring the world of ONE PIECE to life, including the Gaon Cannon from the Thousand Sunny ship. It also features a game called Chopper Quest, in which you save Luffy, and an attraction in which you can ride the Mini Merry boat.

J-CARNIVAL

When you exit the attraction area of ONE PIECE, there is a gaming area called “J-CARNIVAL.” Here, you can find games from works other than ONE PIECE, DRAGONBALL, and NARUTO that was published in Jump. You can win prizes in each game, so if you find a game for your favorite anime, you should try it.

DRAGONBALL

Next to ONE PIECE is the attraction space for the very popular anime “DRAGONBALL.” One of the two entrances there are based on the Tenkaichi Budōkai (Strongest Under the Heavens Martial Arts Tournament). As a fan, your heart would dance at the moment you see the entrance. Furthermore, inside the attraction awaits something a fan would not be able to resist.

You cannot overlook the photo spot in the Dragon Ball area. Immediately to the left after entering the entrance of the Tenkaichi Budōkai, there is a photo spot where you can take a picture as if you are shooting that finishing move by Piccolo.

Experience Goku’s special technique “Kamehameha”

There are two attractions in the Dragon Ball area. One is an attraction where you can actually experience “Kamehameha,” Goku’s finishing move.

This attraction, where you defeat the enemy using the Kamehameha with Goku, is one of the more popular attraction in J-WORLD TOKYO.

Find the hidden Dragon Ball

Another attraction of Dragon Ball is a game where you try to find the Dragon Balls hidden in the attraction area to summon Shenron (Eternal Dragon). You can enjoy searching for the Dragon Balls in the attraction area using the Dragon Radar.

You can find the spaceship used by the Saiyans, the Saiyan armor, and the Scouter to measure your power levels as a photo spot in the two attraction areas. These are also a must-see.

NARUTO

On the right after exiting the Center Core, there is an attraction area of the popular ninja anime “NARUTO.” There is one attraction in the NARUTO area. You have to complete various missions (mini-game) in the attraction area as a Genin (junior ninja).

J-WORLD KITCHEN

When you exit the attraction area of NARUTO, you will find the food court where you can enjoy meals that are based on Jump characters. You can take a break here while eating a meal whenever you get tired.

The food court offers an area modeled after the ramen shop “Ichiraku” from NARUTO. You can bring your food to this area, so if you order ramen you should eat it at Ichiraku to feel like NARUTO.

The original merchandise shop “J-WORLD STORE”

Once you finish playing with all the attractions, you should visit the “J-WORLD STORE” where you can find original merchandize of Jump characters. You can enjoy even just by looking at the T-shirts, candy, puzzles, and other various merchandise.

If you are lucky, you might be able to meet NARUTO at the attraction. Make sure you take a picture with him whenever you see NARUTO.
