October 1 — Tuesday, Mars ruled day with the Moon in Scorpio

We begin the month of October with the waxing moon in Scorpio, ruled by Mars at the 29th degree of Virgo. The emotional tenor of the day will be tight, with people holding their cards close to their chest or refusing to engage. Holding a grudge close to your chest may feel like the right thing to do in the moment, but any emotional pits you find yourself in will surely focus your attention on the true threats to your security in the moment— use the differentiation abilities of Mars in Virgo to separate what’s your real response ability right now from habitual response patterns that are no longer safe hideouts. Keep on cleaning up your side of the street, rage clean if you must.

October 2 — Wednesday, Mercury ruled day, Mercury at the last degrees of Libra co-present with Venus in Libra, Moon in Sagittarius

At 7:44 AM (EDT) the Moon moves into the sign of Sagittarius, opening up a window of fresh air and a much more optimistic vibe. Phew! Thank God! No literally, practicing gratitude is a way to tune in to Jupiter’s energy and this is an energy worth tuning into. Today and tomorrow hold some of my best electional picks for the month. With Mercury still in Libra despositing to Venus (also strongly placed in rulership) Today is a day where many different angles can all end up with satisfactory results. You can initiate a fair compromise and see win-win negotiations.

October 3 — Thursday, Jupiter ruled day, Jupiter in Sag, ruling the Moon in Sag

Today is another lucky one, still blessed with the Sag Moon’s positive outlook, we can envision our long shot hitting the bullseye with precision. If you are actually ready to shoot your load, today is a nice time to go for it.

October 4 — Friday, Venus Day, Venus still in Libra, Moon in Cap

The first half of Friday the Moon is Void in Sag, and we may spend the morning lingering in the afterglow (or recovering from the hangover) from the Sag Moon’s expansive and celebratory energy. When the Moon enters Capricorn at 1:43PM the mood shifts to a heavier tone, much more concerned about real world issues and important matters. It’s time to get to real.

October 5 — Saturday, Saturn Ruled Day, Saturn in Cap, conj south node, Moon in Cap — heavy Saturn day

The mood does not lift on Saturday, but gets even more serious. Old fears and wounds from the past both prompt and haunt efforts to secure ourselves in our present challenge. Stop for a moment and ask yourself — is there a real and present danger a foot or am I just experiencing PTSD? If you find yourself in acute pain today, see if there is a healing opportunity presented to truly release chronic sources of misery. If things didn’t go as planned today, it might not be because you did a poor job executing, but that you were trying the wrong thing in the wrong place at the wrong time. Forces greater than your own will sometimes trump situations, a sad cold truth.

October 6 — Sunday, Sun Ruled Day, Sun in Libra

The Moon is still dragging ass through Capricorn most of the day, but is in an applying square to Venus in Libra, a definite improvement aspect wise from the conjunctions with Saturn and Pluto yesterday. Some attempts to ameliorate yesterday’s upset may be well meaning, but still require some adjustment to take effect. The moon goes void at 7:25 PM and the mood doesn’t fully reset from the trauma of the weekend until just before midnight on Sunday when the Moon goes into Aquarius.

For love. For Astrology. For the Love of Astrology.
