Syako is a kind of shrimp which lives in the sea all over the world. In Japan, it is commonly caught in the Seto Island Sea, which is the body of water separating Honshū, Shikoku, and Kyūshū, three of the four main islands of Japan. It has a pair of large front legs. It is aggressive in nature and fights other shrimps using its legs as sickles. It’s prepared boiled. Despite its unique appearance, it is soft, and tastes of mixed taste between shrimp and crabs.
