2022 is approaching fast and the NFT market is still going strong. Once again we are sharing with you the most interesting news of the week. Without further ado, let us see what happened in the NFT World this week.

Ubisoft Is Not Giving Up

French video game developer Ubisoft is not giving up on NFTs. Last week Ubisoft integrated NFTs into a AAA game for the first time. The response from the NFT community was positive, however, some parts of the gaming community highly disliked the integration. The video received a huge backlash, but by the looks of it Ubisoft is not giving up.

Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot held a video Q&A and stated that NFTs are just the beginning. He did not reveal any details but apparently spoke about the success of Roblox and the new potential uses of blockchain technology within the gaming industry.

A $250K Mistake

A Bored Ape Yacht Club recently got sold for $3k. The owner accidentally listed Bored Ape #3547 NFT for 0.75 ETH instead of 75 ETH and within a few seconds, the NFT was sold, wow quite a big mistake.

The owner stated “I list a lot of items every day and just wasn’t paying attention properly. I instantly saw the error as my finger clicked the mouse but a bot sent a transaction with over 8 ETH of gas fees so it was instantly sniped before I could click cancel, and just like that, $250,000 was gone.”

Tony Hawk Launches ‘Last Trick’ NFT Collection

Professional skateboarder Tony Hawk has announced his latest NFT collection. “Last Trick”. Popular skateboarder Hawk is commemorating his career’s most iconic moments. Just like what IKONIC aims to do for gamers.

The NFTs will be revealed on December 21, 2021. There will be 16,600 digital collectibles and each NFT has a specific tier of rarity.

NFT Gaming Continues to Grow

According to Blockchain Game Alliance, NFT games generated over 2.3 billion dollars in Q3 2021. Currently, NFT Gaming covers 22% of all NFT trading volume within the industry. Gaming wallets used by players increased by 2,453%. These figures are quite stunning for a young industry.

The numbers also show how young the industry is, for example, 81% of the employees have been working within the industry for less than 3 years and 42.5% have been in it for less than a year.

But even though the genre is quite young there is a huge driving force behind the industry, recently we have seen several big funding rounds for example Forte recently raised a $725 million investment round for a blockchain game development platform.

Universal Music Group Partners with Genies

Avatar tech company Genies and Universal Music Group aka UMG announced a new partnership. According to the deal, genies will design avatars for the UMG artists. Recently Genies created avatars for Justin Bieber, Rihanna, and Shawn Mendes.

The music industry is aware of the technological benefits of blockchain technology as we are seeing more and more partnerships within the space.
