Hello and welcome to IKONIC Weekly, where we share the most interesting news about NFTs. Let us check out what stood out over the last week, without further ado here is the best news from the NFT space.

UNO NFTs?

Infamous card game UNO’s creator, Mattel, partnered up with Team Vaynerchuk to create fully playable VeeFriends x UNO cards.

The Uno x VeeFriends cards were unveiled by “Mattel Creations” on December 17, for $25 a pack. There are 17 magnificent card designs in this deck. Each deck created has a genuine certified “ultra-rare” physical edition of the game.

China Entering the NFT Market

China is known for having a love-hate relationship with blockchain technology, however, this is about to change as the Chinese state-owned media agency Xinhua News announced that they will launch NFTs.

Xinhua will publish 10,000 copies of 11 photos taken by Chinese journalists in 2021. This is an interesting route to take because recently the Chinese government voiced their concerns over the NFTs and stated that NFTs should be monitored.

Planet Mojo Coming Soon

Indie game developer Mystic Moose announced that they closed a $5 million funding round. The funding round was led by some of the biggest names within the blockchain industry such as Animoca Brands, with participation also coming from Courtside Ventures, Republic Crypto, and Alameda.

Planet Mojo will be an auto-chess game with blockchain technology. Players can own teams as NFTs, and they can engage in cross-platform PvP and play-to-earn mechanics, whilst also experiencing augmented reality and charitable eco-friendly features.

With the rising popularity of the auto chess genre last year, we can see Planet Mojo having a considerable player base.

Instagram Might Have NFTs in The Future

According to recent news, popular social media platform Instagram might integrate NFTs into their system. During an “AMA” session, viewers asked Head of Instagram, Adam Mosseri, whether NFTs will be integrated within the Instagram platform, to which he stated by revealing that they were exploring the possibility of making NFTs accessible to a broader audience, he claimed that NFTs are “an interesting place that we can play, and also a way to, hopefully, help creators.”

Instagram integrating NFTs will be a huge boost to the market since it is one of the biggest social media platforms. However, by the looks of it, we might have to wait sometime for this feature.

Cricket NFTs

Cricketer Rohit Sharma revealed his new NFT collection on the digital collectibles website FanCraze. The NFTs will highlight the best moments of Rohit Sharma’s career. FanCraze has a deal with the International Cricket Council (ICC) for the rights to its catalog of video and audio clips.

In essence, IKONIC is trying to achieve this goal, as you can see many athletes across the world are creating NFTs to connect with their fans. However, esports athletes are unable to capitalize on this.

With IKONIC we will make this dream a reality for esports athletes. Sports collectibles is a multi-million dollar industry and everyone benefits from it. However, esports is much more famous than most sports but there is no connection between fans and esports stars. Through our fantastic video editing tool, gamers will be able to mint their gameplay clips and fans will have a chance to own these IKONIC moments.

We have more exciting news coming up stay tuned.
