Your Questions Answered — AMA With CEO of IKONIC Sebastian Diaconu

First of all, we would like to thank our community for their support. We know that you have some questions about the IKONIC NFT Marketplace, that’s why today we have a special guest, Sebastian Diaconu CEO of IKONIC. We tried to answer the most burning questions our community has been asking. Without further ado let us move on to our questions.

Could you tell us about IKONIC?

Gladly. IKONIC was born in early 2021, but the idea has existed for decades. Collectibles for esports are a natural evolution, considering the expansion of the industry — as well as the forecasts for the next few years. Esports is growing bigger every year more and more, as stars are rising and fans follow as well as gaining recognition of the outside world for it. It will not be long until it will be in the Olympics. However, are esports players seen as athletes? Not as much as they deserve.

With Blockchain in general, smart contracts, and NFTs in particular, collectibles for esports will become reality and mainstream. Winning shots in the final of CS: GO tournament, an incredible combo of kicks in Street Fighter final match, these and other iconic moments can be preserved, part of the creators legacy, part of the fans collections.

IKONIC mission is to bring the esports stars to the status they deserve: athletes; help them share with the world their fabulous moments and get rewarded at the same time, via royalties.

What advantages will it bring to the IKONIC ecosystem and its users?

I think the main advantage is the possibility of every esports player, game streamer, and highly skilled gamer to share their outstanding moments with their fans, followers, collectors as NFTs. Besides the intrinsic value of the moments, the IKONIC Marketplace creates an economy in itself based on the minted NFTs bought, sold, and resold, beneficial for the creators, buyers, collectors, fans. The ecosystem will grow organically and it will add more features and more ways to monetize what we all love: games.

How will we be able to participate in it?

It is as simple as saying “IKONIC — Own the moment”. It is really simple. Either you are a creator and you want to share your greatest video gameplay by minting them as NFTs and showcase and/or sell them on the IKONIC Platform or, being a fan, you can buy the moments you love, showcase them as well or even resell them for profit. Or, in many cases, both. All you need is a compatible Blockchain wallet and a device.

Why esports and gaming?

Esports players, highly skilled gamers, are seen by many as geeks, wasting their time, money, efforts for nothing. Nothing could be further from the truth. The amount of work they put in to become as good as they are comes nothing short of the efforts of an athlete from basketball, baseball, football, or chess. They deserve recognition, respect, and rewards just like any other athlete and video collectibles are now possible thanks to Blockchain Technology.

How does IKONIC plan to participate in the development of the blockchain gaming industry?

The blockchain gaming industry has a huge future, there is no doubt there. No matter how much opposition will receive from the traditional gaming mammoths, it is here to stay. More and more people are attracted to it because it also compensates them. We keep hearing “Play to earn”. A new concept, loved by gamers, hated by traditional game developers. We understand there is room for both traditional and Blockchain gaming. NFTs and Blockchain games work hand in hand. Items, characters, upgrades, all part of the ecosystem.

IKONIC will support the development of the Blockchain gaming industry by organizing, supporting, or sponsoring blockchain esports competitions, being actively engaged in the latest tendencies in the space, and collaborating with active Blockchain esports teams/guilds.

What innovations does IKONIC bring to the esports and gaming industry?

Iconic gameplays transformed into collectibles via video NFTs. I think this is the most important innovation that we are bringing to the industry.

What are your targets for 2022?

2022 is going to be a truly fantastic year and a stepping stone for us. IKONIC plans are to officially launch in Q1 2022, with additional products being developed during the year, one of the most important being the Indie Games Launchpad. Equally important for us is the community, which we want to spoil with an amazing platform, competitions, exclusive items, and NFT pack drops. Education is one of the pillars of success in any industry and it is one of our targets as well.

Where do you see IKONIC in the future?

Future is a relative term and it is measured differently in Blockchain than it is in other industries. In the near future, we want to establish IKONIC as one of the best NFT Platforms out there, with a focus on the esports and gaming industry. Long-term plans are yet to be revealed, as we want to keep a few aces down our sleeves, but it will be nothing short of what we are working on right now.
