The Rosenfeld Review Podcast

"Enterprise UX braintrust Uday Gajendar and Dave Malouf get together with Lou to talk us through the reasons that UX design needed a conference for enterpise, how they tackled the unique challenges of community building and programming posed by an emerging subset of the profession, and how they plan to keep from being ‘one hit wonders’."

Exploring the DesignOps Definition: A Chat With Dave Malouf (Length: 20min)
"Dave Malouf has worked with Rosenfeld Media to curate our EUX program, but did you know that he’s also active in the DesignOps movement? Lou sat down with Dave to talk about the emerging framework of DesignOps, and how it’s more than just design combined with operations."

Business 901

Interactions With Interaction Design (Length: 20min)
"
Dave Malouf is currently the Manager of Product Design at Rackspace, the open hosting company (RAX). They are responsible for all the administrative control panels for our Infrastructure as a Service, Management as a Service, Platform as a Service, and Networks as a Service system. Dave has been working primarily in Internet front-end design for the past 20 years. Dave also worked as a Professor of Interaction Design in the Industrial Design Department at the Savannah College of Art & Design (SCAD). This prompted a question from me about why the term Service Design is not popularized in the United States as much as it has taken hold in Europe. He started out discussing how service is looked at in the U.S. but then made this salient point about Service Design."

Graphic Mint

UX Thought Leaders — A Podcast With Dave Malouf (Length: 30min)
"Dave Malouf joined Graphic Mint director Seamus Byrne this week to talk about his upcoming workshop in Dublin on Design Leadership. Dave recently released his eBook ‘The Guide to UX Leadership’, which focuses on empowering design teams to show the value of their work in any organisation."

Story In a Bottle Podcast

Dave Malouf (Length: 1h)
"Dave Malouf is a man who comes from many different career paths, but the one course he has stayed on through and through is the almighty Internet. He originally graduated from UC Berkeley with a degree in Anthropology, but he soon discovered he loved something else: web design. As Dave created new site after new site, he began to realize that he could help other users and other web designers come up with entire new strategies to this up and coming business. Thus was born The Interaction Design Association. AKA IxDA, an organization that is working to build a community of practice for the advancement and advocacy of the discipline of interaction design. Over Beak & Skiff Hard Cider at Fool’s Gold in Manhattan, Dave takes us on his journey as a pioneer in the Internet design world and how much has changed over time."

This is HCD — Human Centered

#20. Marc Stickdorn ‘ Embedding Service Design into Organisations (Length: 50min)
"In this episode, we go through the hypothetical scenario of embedding service design into an organisation and what Marc looks for in this process. We discussed the challenges of the early stage engagement of what to look for regarding the design maturity of an organisation, where service design should sit in an organisational structure and the role of service design thinking, impact measurement and service design and a whole lot more."

Spoolcast (UIE.fm)

#240. Marc Stickdorn — Service Design Thinking (Length: 30min)
"In the realm of user experience, disciplines and titles can take on different meanings. Determining buzzword jargon from actual, useful distinctions and processes is sometimes a bit tricky. The term Service Design has been with us for a while now. Some see it as just plain, good UX. Marc Stickdorn sees it as more than that."

#10. Empathy as a Service: Applying Service Design to the Homelessness Issue (Length: 30min)
"Empathy. It’s an unavoidable word in the world of user experience design. Too often it is applied to designs in too narrow a fashion. Your empathy should come from the problem your design is solving, not measured in the level of frustration or delight experienced with your design.
Ariel Kennan is the Director of Design and Product at the New York City Mayor’s Office for Economic Opportunity. She has been working on the HOME-STAT initiative which is an effort of the City of New York to properly provide services to the city’s homeless population.
In this episode, Ariel shares her story and is joined by Marc Stickdorn who offers his insights on how service design can be done on such a massive scale."
