We are all creatures of habit. This can have a very positive, but also catastrophic effect on our everyday life. We do not consciously perceive most habits, but simply carry them out without paying any further attention to them.

Habits are therefore automatisms, self-evident things, and ways of reacting that are stored deep in our consciousness. Habits take place in the areas of feeling, thinking, and behavior and thus clock a large part of our everyday life.

Habits differ fundamentally in two types of habits, which will surely seem familiar to you:

Type 1 — The destructive and passive habits: Smoking or lying on the couch after work and watching a TV show, simply because you always do. Likewise, an unhealthy diet is a bad habit that people like to follow without thinking about it. All these are habits that do not help you at all but have exactly the opposite effect. They lead you into a passive attitude and thus prevent you from reaching your full potential.
