Tytianna Smith, a senior from Lafayette High School in Lafayette, Alabama is brilliant and her brilliance has opened doors for her beyond the norm. She was recently rewarded a total of $1.7 million in scholarships and applied to fifty institutions and was accepted by 49. Those numbers are staggering.

Out of all these schools, she decided to attend Norfolk University after she was not accepted by her first choice, Stanford University. She admitted she felt God lead her to Norfolk University and that was fine with her. Smith has great insight, thinks well beyond her years, and is a young lady of faith.

Prior to making history, she shared how she chose to attend a failing high school just to prove that a failing school does not dictate failing students. She is a living witness as such as she counts her blessings with all her offers and scholarships.

Also, she had one problem and that was, choosing between predominantly white institutions and historically Black colleges and universities. Each offered something different that she wanted. But her power of faith and relationship with God guided her decision without a doubt.
