ADVENT: The Coming of Christmas and its Meaning for Us Today

The birth of Jesus allows all of us include him in our lives to live in victory because of his life, death and resurrection. The New Testament calls it reigning in life because of God’s free gift of Christ’s righteousness and his grace (Romans 5:17). This had been predicted for hundreds and hundreds of years, and most people knew about it, but it seems not everyone really expected it.
A STORY OUT OF THE BOOK OF REVELATION
Revelation 14 tells a story about this. Here it is in a very short version. Mary, the mother of Jesus, is just giving birth to Jesus, but Satan the Dragon wants to kill him the moment he is born. Jesus is raptured up to God’s throne in heaven as soon as he was born. Mary escaped to the wilderness and was preserved by God and cared for over a 3–1/2 year period.

This gives us a life of righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Spirit (Romans 14:17)…
