AFFOGATO
My favorite craving
A little-known decadent delight discovered in Italy
Found in dark, hidden alleyways late at night
Far from the maddening crowds that divide us
Opposite flavorful explosions burst on the tip of my tongue
Give rise to the need for more … day after day after day
Awakening tastebuds I never knew existed
Tantalizing right down to the tips of my toes …
One shot of hot expresso, over a mound of frozen vanilla bean ice cream, is all that I crave tonight
This little poem is written in response to a prompt by Agnes Laurens about your favorite craving. Hers was a poem about chocolate milk. According to her, it must be bad and unhealthy food that you can’t resist. Write an Acrostic Poem — thus every first letter of a sentence must represent the next letter of the word. Who doesn’t have a secret craving (or two). If you play along, please use these tags, so we can all see these — Acrostic Poems, Poetry.
