Angry Life

A poem of human hostility

By now
We could be feeling fine
if you could lose
a rusted mind.

But all your tension
locks me in
and speaks of pain
across my eyes.

Beyond all hope
Your kind of lesson
Cuts my nerve
Resolve is weakened.

Right away
I try to fade
But nothing works
The hours hurt
Me ageing there
in one big chair
without a soul
or arms to care.

We lost your smile
There is no peace
My lonely heart
returns to grief.

Call up my friend
She’s right again
Me at the place
no time can mend.

This kind of frail
kills all the fight
Your door is slammed
My thoughts denied.
