This post follows up on this one that I posted over the weekend.
For those who haven’t read the poem, I wrote it several months ago, after an upsetting conversation with a dear friend of nearly 40 years. We haven’t spoken since.
They find it unacceptable that I expressed understanding of why many non-MAGA voters voted for him. (See my, Trump Voters Are People Just Like You and Me, Who are you to sit in judgment?)
In their mind, I have insufficient sympathy for my friend — I’m not a sufficient ally.
