Beating Writer’s Block With a Brick
Take charge of your writing.
I have been doing this for some time.
I mean, writing.
Writing has played a significant role in my life since elementary school, and I now make a living from it. Naturally, I’ve encountered the dreaded blank page on occasion.
Writer’s block has even prevented me from creating anything for as long as a year.
That was a lousy year.
The good news is that I’m older and (I hope) wiser. It’s been a while since I’ve had a significant issue with writer’s block. I like to think it’s because I’ve learned a few tricks that help keep writer’s block at bay.
How well these tricks work for you, I can’t say. I can say, however, that trying them out won’t hurt, and they could possibly help.

Don’t Overprepare
Over-preparation can impede writing in two different ways. Believe it or not, stressing about your supplies can get in people’s way. Having one’s preferred pen, notebook, background tunes, environment, or snack while writing is great and all, don’t allow the lack to become a justification for not writing.
