Digging Into John 7:27:
Jesus says: “If anyone thirsts, let him come to me and drink.”
Things of God are meant to make us thirst and want more — the gospel of Jesus even more. Even though we are usually happy most of the time, unsatisfied annoyances make us desire more.
It’s the way life should be. Drinking speaks of communion which Jesus says we should do as often as we do it ‘in remembrance of him,’ — not just once a month in church.
Drinking is receiving from God, but then we respond by giving away what we are given. We are to become like ‘rivers of living water’ to other people (John 7:38). Jesus says, “It is better to give than to receive.”
But we must also receive from God first so we have more to give than our personal opinion.

“I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.”
