Black & White Patterned

A poem about the ways we show love.

Black and white patterned sweater
Keeps you warm, soft velvet-like,
A rainbow with but two markings.
The skinny white lines race up to your neck
And down to your stomach ere rising
Once again.

Uniform black trims run in reverse.
Together entwined as a forest of darkness and light.
You turn my lonely eyes
Into twin sentinels at the fore
Of a vessel guided beyond the straight.
