Don’t Buy an Expensive Cellphone and Here’s Why
Life lessons not to buy an expensive cellphone ever again
Based on my experiences and what I have learned so far, let me share this friendly advice with you: don’t buy an expensive cellphone and here’s why.
As much as having the latest cellphone model can be tempting, it’s very important to consider the long-term value of such a purchase.
Buying an expensive cellphone may give you instant gratification, but it could also leave you with headaches and regret. Why? Because a new version will come out even before you’ve finished paying for it.
Yes, one reason why you shouldn’t buy an expensive cellphone is that technology advances faster than we can keep up with. This means that even before you finish paying for your current phone, a new one will come out with better features, camera, processing power, battery, and software.
With the rapidly changing world of technology, it’s almost impossible to keep up with the latest releases.
Another reason why buying an expensive cellphone is not always worth it is that the price of the phone depreciates rapidly.
In some cases, the value of the cellphone drops by half in just a few months. This means that the value of the expensive phone you bought will decrease significantly by the time the next version is released.
If you’re on a tight budget, buying an expensive cellphone may put you in a difficult financial situation. Buying a new cellphone may not fit within your budget, and constantly upgrading your phone may make it hard to save money for other important things in life.
Overall, buying an expensive cellphone might seem like a good idea in the short term but may not be the best decision in the long term. It is wiser to spend your money on more important things like foods and related stuff.
But in case you have extra money to spare and you really have the itching hands to buy a cellphone, here are important features you should look for:
- Display — The display is the first feature that catches the user’s eye. A good display ensures clear and sharp pictures and videos. Look for a phone that has a high resolution, high pixel density, and a decent screen size. A larger screen allows for a better viewing experience, but it also makes the device bulky. Therefore, choose a screen size that fits comfortably in your hand.
2. Camera — The camera is another important feature of a cellphone that one should consider. With the increasing trend of social media, a good camera can make a huge difference. Look for a camera that offers high resolution and is capable of capturing clear, bright, and sharp images, even in low light. Also, check if the manufacturer offers additional features like optical image stabilization, portrait mode, or night mode.
3. Battery Life — Battery life is a crucial factor when it comes to purchasing a mobile phone. A phone with a good battery life means you don’t have to keep charging your phone every few hours. The battery size is measured in mAh, and a higher number means longer battery life. Check if the phone has quick charging capabilities, which will enable you to charge your phone quickly.
4. Processor — The processor is the heart of a mobile phone. It is responsible for carrying out all the tasks and commands. A good processor ensures that the device runs smoothly, and there are no lags or delays. Check the speed of the processor, the number of cores, and if it’s compatible with the latest software updates.
5. Storage — In this digital age, we tend to store a lot of data, including pictures, videos, music, documents, and more. Therefore, it’s vital to have sufficient storage on the phone. A good phone should have a minimum storage capacity of 64 GB, which can be extended through a memory card.
6. Operating System — The operating system plays a significant role in how you interact with your phone. It affects the overall performance and user experience. Android and iOS are the most popular operating systems available. Android is known for its customization options, while iOS is known for its ease of use. Choose an operating system that suits your requirements.
7. Connectivity — With the advancement of technology, a phone is no longer just a device to make and receive calls. It’s also used to connect with the internet, stream videos, and more. Therefore, it’s important to have a phone that supports 4G-5G/LTE connectivity, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and NFC.
Yes, choosing the right cellphone can be a daunting task. However, by considering these important features, you can make a well-informed decision. Remember, a good cellphone is an investment, so choose wisely.
In conclusion, I have told you my reasons I’m not buying an expensive cellphone ever again. But of course, it’s at your expense and you can do whatever you want with your own money.
