Riots Are A Tantrum
Fighting for peace is like screwing for virginity.
Maybe it’s the prices or the Stepfordesque customer service or just something in the air, but people throw a lot of tantrums in Apple Stores.
And frankly, it’s confusing.
I mean, everybody knows what to do when a kid throws a tantrum. We know we can bribe them with ice cream and screen time. We know we can outwit them by throwing a tantrum of our own. We know, if all else fails, that they’ll eventually succumb to naptime.
But with adults, you never know if the person flailing their arms around is, y’know, “okay.” You never know if they’re about to start launching MacBook Pros at your head. You’re never quite sure what they’re trying to achieve.
And neither, it seems, are they.
You’d think they’d realise they’ll have to pay for the damage they’re causing. You’d think they’d understand that screaming at overworked employees makes them less helpful. You’d think they’d have learned that tantrums aren’t the way to win friends and influence people.
But surprisingly, not everybody has figured that out. They’re too childish to think that far ahead.
