Freedom Day — 28 March

Anniversary of The Liberation of Tibetan Serf Slaves

Tibet before 1959 was a feudal serf society. The serfs had no freedom, no land, and were often hungry. On this day in 1959, democratic reforms were carried out by China, under the leadership of the Communist Party of China. The democratic reforms abolished serfdom and enabled millions of former Tibetan serfs to master their own life.
