How I Got the US Department of Education to Investigate the Hate Spewing from Temple University

The investigation is a direct response to my emails about Temple’s College of Public Health.

Hate spewing out of the Temple College of Public Health comes at very troubled times in American politics and on Philly’s unsafe streets. I want Temple to collaborate in just saying “No!” to hate.

I relied on a simple, but often effective whistleblower’s trick. In a pair of emails, I outlined what has been happening at Temple. All recipients were blind copied except me. Many of the emails’ recipients were in the administration at Temple, but others were elected officials or from law enforcement.

My first email did not get a response from Temple but I received a number of statements of support from elected officials who happened to be up for re-election.

The second email was much briefer, but I attached graphic screenshots of the renewed threats to me from a pseudonymous troll, as well as one of the tweets from the person from Temple who incited the threats.
