Who doesn't want to live their life to its full potential?

Well! we all do, but between thinking and getting things done comes the ‘ACTION’.

We need to take the desired action and follow a system to reach our goal. You’re tired of giving excuses to yourself about being okay with the average lifestyle you’re living.

Do you know why most of us like watching motivational videos?

Because we look for external stimuli or spark to move us towards our desired action. We get quickly filled with a sense of purpose and excitement. But once the euphoria fades, we get back to where we started.

The point is, we all crave a better life, don't we? In terms of health, wealth, finances, and relationships.

All we need is a foolproof system, or at least a shift in mindset, to realize that it’s very much possible to redesign your life in just 6 months.

Here’s the step-by-step framework to get where you want to in just 6 months

1. Start by finding that one thing that is weighing you down ( bring in the clarity by answering your how’s, what's, and whys. )

For me, it was my health that pushed me into thinking that something was off.

I was gaining weight, had messed up hormones, and lacked energy throughout the day.

When I embarked on this journey, I was set to reverse my illness. But that one step changed my whole life. I not only revered my illness but also reduced weight changed my eating habits, started walking, starting journalling reading,. and so on.

The idea is one positive impact, that you make will encourage you to put all the other things in order. That’s a human tendency. You don't see dirt in an already messed up dirty room. But you instantly spot a speck in a neat well-arranged room.

Good habits are like magnets. They tend to attract positive outcomes and influences in our lives.

Find that one thing for yourself and take the first step that’ll bring you closer to your goal.

e.g.- you wanna lose weight- write your goal, one thing you can do to support your goal. Say running, write the exact time, venue, and for how long you’re going to be at it. This is the clarity you need.

2. Set measurable goals and track your progress

As I mentioned above, once you set your goal, you must break it down into smaller pieces. Say your goal is to build an online writing business with $5k in revenue.

Break it down into months, days, and further to reach a point where you know clearly that this is the step I’ll take today to reach my bigger goal. It’s about focusing on the present moment. What can you do now? And it doesn't have to be big.

When I took the first step toward my health, I wanted to heal my thyroid disorder, I not only made a plan of a set of exercises and diet that would be helpful but also made sure to keep track of my progress. So, I’d go get my blood tests done every 3 months to keep track of my TSH levels. My TSH level dropped from 12 to 3.5 in a year.

3. Take responsibility for your actions

“The moment you accept responsibility for everything in your life is the moment you gain the power to change anything in your life.” — Hal Elrod

Until you hold yourself accountable for your actions, there is no way you can step outside your bubble. The moment you shift your focus from blaming others, the situations, your environment, to yourself. That’s the first step towards your self-improvement journey.

You start to realize the fact that external factors may or may not be in your favor. But you can make the best out of what you already have.

We usually think about one big goal, say losing 50 lbs, and get overwhelmed by the number. All you have to do is break it down into small daily actions. e.g. To lose 50 lbs I need to do x. define x for yourself. And then put in the reps.

4. Imagine your ideal life. Create a mental picture of where you want to see yourself 5 years from now.

“Watch your thoughts; they become words. Watch your words; they become actions. Watch your actions; they become habits. Watch your habits; they become character. Watch your character; it becomes your destiny. — Kathy Collins

Your thoughts play a pivotal role in shaping your destiny. Imagine your ideal life. Picture every little detail. And set yourself up to accomplish it. When you have the clarity of what you want in your life, what are your values, and what type of people you wanna attract in your life. It becomes much easier to get ahead.

This clarity in the mindset is enough to make you jump out of your bed every morning.

5. Don't beat yourself up when you fail

“Failure is the opportunity to begin again , this time more intelligently — Henry Ford”

There is no way you can move ahead without making mistakes. it’s all part of the journey. Embrace everything about it. Remember, you need to change your approach and not the plan itself.

Don’t be too hard on yourself, life is a marathon and not a sprint. You’ve to keep showing up for yourself and for that, you’ve to let go of the mistakes.

when you fall, learn from your mistakes, change your approach, wipe off the dust, and move on.

6. Enjoy the process

“As you search for a person, place, or thing, be prepared to continue your quest, should the end result not yield your desired outcome. Enjoy the process and you’ll avoid disappointment” — James A. Murphy

If you don’t find joy in what you do, you won't be able to pull it off any longer. Most of us postpone happiness for the future.

Having a mindset like once I achieve this, then I’ll be happy, will simply lead to burnout and increase the chances of you quitting altogether. Because there is no limit to human desires once you reach a certain level, there is a next goal right in front of you and the list never ends. Therefore, it’s important to have fun in the process of becoming.

The Bottom line

Self-growth is a lifelong process. It’s usually the first step that’s the hardest. Once you cross the threshold, things start to unfold on their own. When you decide to do whatever it takes to reach there and not settle for less. The sky is the limit for you.
