I’ll Share a Song that Speaks to Stories We Write About Here Today
The Song is “TODAY,” Written 50 Years Ago By Randy Sparks.
Today while the blossoms still cling to the vine
I’ll taste your strawberries and drink your sweet wine.
A million tomorrows shall all pass away
Ere I forget all the joy that is mine…. TODAY.
I’ll be a dandy, and I’ll be a rover
You’ll know who I am by the songs that I sing
I’ll feast at your table, I’ll sleep in your clover
Who cares what tomorrow shall bring?
Chorus
I can’t be contented with yesterday’s glory
I can’t live on promises winter to spring
TODAY is my moment and now is my STORY
I’ll laugh and I’ll cry and I’ll sing.
Today while the blossoms still cling to the vine
I’ll taste your strawberries and drink your sweet wine.
A million tomorrows shall all pass away
Ere I forget all the joy that is mine…. TODAY.
In this madness of life and daily politics and agendas,
we can forget the joy of simply living for today,
and appreciating things that are ours: what we already have. The Bible says, “Today is the day the Lord has given us,
Rejoice and be glad in it.”We can sometimes forget the simple things of life
if we get caught-up in the complexity of life
that drowns us in a constant barrage of stuff from A to Z.
