The Middle East currently faces dangerous challenges while Egypt and Jordan experience growing dangers to their positions. Israel’s planned Palestinian population transfers continue to threaten stability among states that traditionally supported US and Western positions in the region. The longstanding equilibrium in power has transformed into an worsening situation in which the future appears more and more threatening.

Israel’s Expansionism and the Demographic Threat to Egypt and Jordan

Multiple recent events have intensified concerns about Israeli territorial objectives between Egypt and Jordan due to ongoing debates about Palestinian relocation. Both Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi and King Abdullah II of Jordan have forcefully rejected the proposition to settle Palestinians in their countries. El-Sisi along with Jordan have both declared their nations will not allow Palestinian influx as it would jeopardize Egypt’s political independence (Reuters, 2025, January 29).
