One of the most contentious topics of dialogue among progressive folks is the subject of “Assisted suicide.” Also called medically assisted dying, it is a procedure that bioethicists and lawmakers have to grapple with more than ever before. So those in favor of Assisted Suicide must ultimately walk the line between safeguarding the patient and respecting individual autonomy, thus causing unintended consequences.

The Ethical Dilemma and Medically Assisted Dying

When it comes to assisting someone in dyeing, the fundamental question arises:

Should everyone have the freedom to choose how and when to end their lives at this stage of integration and complexity?

If so, even then, how can we stave off the abuse and oppression of the most vulnerable?
