New Study Suggests Morning Coffee is Better than Afternoon Coffee—Perhaps

The latest study concludes that morning coffee drinkers live longer and better than those who drink coffee all day; here's what it means.

I assumed everything good and bad about coffee and your heart had been written. But I was wrong. Now, we are presented with yet another chapter on how coffee may or may not be good for your heart health. This study examined total daily coffee consumption and the time you drank it as it relates to heart health.

I will cut to the chase. It was more beneficial for your heart if you drank your coffee in the morning rather than throughout the day (and night). But let me dig into the study and give some perspectives. As I write this, I have consumed my usual two to three cups of coffee in the morning.

Who Was Studied

This study included 40,725 adults from the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey 1999–2018 who had complete information on dietary data and 1463 adults from the Women’s and Men’s Lifestyle Validation Study who had complete data on 7-day dietary records.
