Overheard
The scene unfolds in a cozy Manhattan coffee shop. The irreverently loud conversations around them blend into the background as Phillipa and K sit at a small table by the window.
“K, I can’t lie, it’s been tough. One minute, I’m leading transformative projects and feeling on top of the world, and the next, I’m on the outside looking in — like everything I built was suddenly irrelevant.” She pauses, searching for the right words, her voice quieter. “A part of me feels raw, discarded like I didn’t matter in the end. But… as strange as it sounds, I know this isn’t the end. I keep thinking there has to be a way to turn this into something bigger, even though it stings right now.”
K listens intently, nodding slightly, their gaze steady and supportive. “Phillipa, it’s completely normal to feel that way — being sidelined can hit hard, especially when you’ve given so much of yourself to an organization. But it sounds like you’re already seeing the cracks…
