Two sons have
aluminium boats
with outboards on trailers,
Weekend fishing
estuary and off-shore
from Sydney harbor.

In my teens,
After surviving
storm in rowboat,
Parents gave me
3hp outboard and
adventures began,
Later acquired license for
“messing about in a boat”,
Offshore racing
bit of fright then
boating picnics
much happier
family experiences,
Now its been over
thirty years since last
“messing about in a boat”,
Had to get that quote in
from “Wind in the Willows”.

My sons don’t
mess about,
They love fishing
and families enjoy
fresh fish dinners,
Just thought I’d
explore outboard motors and
some nostalgic memories.
