Taylor Swift has released her new album The Tortured Poets Department. Surprise! It is a double album. The much-anticipated release came after the initial Grammy announcement of its completion.
The first 16 songs were released at midnight on April 19th, 2024. A surprise countdown to 2 a.m. Eastern Standard Time appeared hidden on her Instagram. “It’s a 2 am surprise: The Tortured Poets Department is a secret DOUBLE album,” wrote Tayler. She scribbled this in a post when the moment finally arrived. Her fans are consistently delighted with her artistic ability and her creativity in marketing.
“I’d written so much tortured poetry in the past 2 years and wanted to share it all with you, so here’s the second installment of TTPD: The Anthology. 15 extra songs,” she wrote. “And now the story isn’t mine anymore… it’s all yours.”
These added elements included four songs that had already been announced previously to be bonus tracks — “The Black Dog,” “The Bolter,” “The Manuscript,” and “The Albatross”. Eleven new melodies with various skill sets were etched now in time.
