The 65 Year High School Class Reunion May Be The Last

The high school seniors became senior citizens and then really elderly

It used to be that 65 years was nearly a lifetime. Now it is normal for many people to live into their eighties and nineties. People who graduated from high school and are now having their 65 year reunion are mostly 83 years old. That is definitely considered elderly.

When students graduate from high school, they embark on new adventures in life. They often leave home and go out on their own. That generally may include over the next several years such things as college, work, careers, military service, volunteer service, marriage, and families.

After they have been out of high school for five years, it is normal for graduates to have a high school class reunion to meet with fellow members of their graduating class. Depending on whether people in the class are willing to plan the events, the reunions may take place every five years for many years. Classmates meet and catch up with each other’s lives.

Those who are having a 65 year reunion this year in 2022 graduated from high school in 1957. It is quite likely that many, possibly half of the graduates, have passed away by this time. There are others who are too ill to attend or…
