Don’t Be a Religious Crook
Christians today still try to live by Old Testament law, at least to some degree, to be right with God. But the law ceased to exist 2000 years ago. This is like going to a store to shop when it went out of business in the year 2000.
Plus, the law wasn’t meant for us Gentiles at all (Romans 2:14). Gentiles are anyone not born a Jew. I’m one. You probably are too.
Using the law without permission from the Jews
tends to make make us like ‘religious crooks.’
God does not like crooks so people living by law should stay inside during a lightning storm so they don’t get struck.
Fantastic versus Fatalistic
If we are believers, and have included Jesus in our existence, God deals with us on the basis of his forgiveness, acceptance, grace, and even unconditional love. He even forgets our sin.
But if we attend most churches, we hear failure, obligation, repentance and sin…
