A relatively small number of billionaires control so much wealth

Most people in the world cannot fathom what a billion dollars would look like. They cannot imagine having control of so much money. Yet there are a few people who have more than a hundred billion dollars. Hundreds or thousands of people have at least one billion dollars.

Most of the money may be tied up in companies, stocks, and other various assets which are owned by the billionaires, but their net worth is huge.

One million dollars or even one hundred thousand dollars would make life easier for so many who are struggling during these difficult times. Many of the billionaires saw their net worth grow substantially during the COVID pandemic.

According to World Atlas, there are 2,208 billionaires in the world. China has the most billionaires with the United States being second. The numbers may change as new billionaires are added.

Two of the richest people in the world over the years have been Bill Gates and Warren Buffet. They have now been replaced by others as the most wealthy billionaires. The top position fluctuates as their net worth changes. Recently, Jeff Bezos and Elon Musk have been listed as the richest
