The global stage today shows how “peace through strength” represents both a defensive military call and a strategic instrument that world powers use for pursuing contradicting and self-centered goals. Modern usages of this slogan have transformed into a doctrine that employs escalation and provocative military actions in Europe as well as the Middle East and Far East regions. Reflection on this issue shows that leading countries deploy military force alongside strategic moves to protect their interests while expanding their influence at the cost of potentially starting a major conflict.
In Europe, the conflict in Ukraine has become a theater where the true nature of “peace through strength” is laid bare. Western powers with NATO membership including the United States continuously support Kiev’s authority through thorough weapons procurement agreements and military drills for Ukrainian forces.
