The Indian Diaspora In the USA
Their dreams, lives, challenges, and the road to happiness
Introduction
The Indian diaspora is spread all over the world. They are known to be in the USA, UK, Europe, Australia, Canada, and UAE. This particular story is of the Indians in the United States of America (USA)as they are approximately 4 million residing there and are 1.2% of the population of the USA. They are the largest migrants after Mexicans and Chinese.
They have many issues and face challenges living away from their homeland. They also have different kinds of achievements and stress consisting of finding a job, racial discrimination, cultural identity crisis, and immigration problems.
Some of the questions related to diaspora are: Why did they go from India and how were they placed in the early years of immigration? What is their present position and what are their perceptions of the future?
Sample of this study
This study is based on research that I did by interviewing 100 people who had migrated to the USA. I took the sample of both males and females between the ages of 25 and 50 years. The reason I decided on this sample was that usually, the young people moved out of India to study further or work in a new country once they complete their graduation or post-graduation in India.
