As Trump Resurges and Rubio Takes the Helm, the U.S. Geopolitical Strategy Eyes Central and South America to Outmaneuver China and Russia
Under President Trump’s return and Secretary of State Marco Rubio the United States will emphasize its foreign policy in Central and South America. The United States plans to redirect its influence back into the Western Hemisphere as China and Russia push into Latin America. As a historical regional giant the United States now worries that Chinese economic growth and Russian political alliances may reduce its influence. Under this influence Trump and Rubio seem to be preparing work to achieve regional dominance over Latin America despite rising Chinese and Russian geopolitical power.
As the driving force behind altered diplomacy Rubio makes his own ideas about international relations stand central. His Cuban heritage and strong opposition to socialist rule make him well placed to guide Latin American affairs for the United States.
