Torn between ambition and simplicity

Seeking glory in a land naive;
The road is undone and lonely.
But I am loyal, and I am alive,
And I seek it with all my might.

Loyalty to myself came with the price
Of being disowned and unloved.
And succumbing to Love, Care, and stars and skies;
Serve contrasting facets of my mortal needs.

But I am the power, and I am the stride;
Is affection worth slaying prestige for?
Or maybe I was wrong all along. I am but,
A war of two disparate personalities.
