Who? You!
Do I dare describe Medium writers here? Nahh, let’s leave that to YOUR imagination. You saw the word, Prompt in the title and here you are. Writing prompts spark ideas and fun fun fun!

Make a splash! Earth Day was started to celebrate environmental protection. I’m big into ocean protection because I love the ocean, we are living on an ocean planet, and water is fascinating.

Earth Day writing prompt ideas:

  1. Greenwashing (what is it, a story about it, etc.)
  2. Bluewashing (same same)
  3. Stewardship and nature
  4. What would you tell a ten year old about the Earth or ocean?
  5. What would you tell a twenty year old about the Earth or ocean?
  6. Do you have any memorable beach/ocean/nature travel tales to share that illuminate nature?
  7. Do you have any memorable nature/forest travel tales to share that illuminate nature?
  8. Why is eating fewer (or no) animals better for Earth?
  9. Why is eating fewer (or no) fish better for Earth?
  10. What are some great ideas to help protect nature?

Why? You live here too; on both Medium and Earth!
It takes a village. There cannot be just one Earth person, one whale person, one primate person, one tree person, etc. That approach does not serve our planet. Would our world have just one writer or one artist? Jump in with a fun writing prompt, the water’s warm!

Inspiration: Do you know who Rachel Carson is?

Staying in the Sunshine
As a writer I have a lot to say, and as a poet, sometimes only a few words to say. Listening, like reading, connects us. Like listening to the breeze in the trees, I want to hear what YOU have to say.
We can find a way to dovetail almost any holiday to celebrate nature. I was hiking up a strenuous hill pondering topics for a new Earth Day post when this prompt idea occurred to me.
I wrote a new song, and hope to share it with you before Earth Day 2024. (I will post the song link in this post after the release).
A league is not one person. I founded the Ocean Protection League a few years ago, emphasis on League.
Not too many folks write about Earth Day on Medium, so together let’s change that.

Yes Earth Day should be everyday, so please do not stress about any April 22nd deadlines.
Yes you can suggest other prompts.
Yes you can improve the suggested prompts.
Yes you can comment or write your own post suggesting more prompts.
Yes idea lists of prompts encouraged.
Yes POETRY is absolutely encouraged.
Yes please tag me if you post.
Share share share! We all live here, share!

Blocked about this? Get a chair and put it under a tree.
Turn off your phone and sit there for 2 minutes.
Look up at the sky.
Breathe.
Perhaps your prompt ideas will magically appear!
