First of all, you need a plan if you want to make money. Are you a writer here on Medium, and is this kind of content working for you? Great! Then my advice would be to stick to the same niche but consider offering something that people would be willing to pay for.

By the way, don’t give up on Medium — do both! Substack and Medium seem to complement each other nicely. You’ll love these synergies, I promise!

I currently charge $5 per month or $50 for 12 months. I also offer free trials so people can take a look, and if they feel it’s worth it, they can stay.
