Gaming is not a cheap hobby to maintain, especially if your platform of choice is a PC. Parts can get very expensive, and video game prices are seemingly only going up.

That’s why I want to show you these 10 games that you can get for under $10 (on a steam sale at least). Note: most of these can also be played on consoles, such as the Xboxes, PlayStations, and the Nintendo Switch.

Without any further ado, let’s get on with it!

●1. Grim Dawn:

○Price: $6 (off from $24)

○Reviews: Very Positive

This is not a game for everybody. If you’re into big, triple-A, story-focused, linear games, then this might not sound like a great one to try out. Just remember: it’s always worth going outside of your comfort zone and experiencing something new!

Grim Dawn is an ARPG (action role-playing game), boasting a complex character development system, intricate RPG-style quests, and a hefty amount of enemy variety, including bosses and hidden areas!

If you like what you’ve just read, then you’ll definitely like Grim Dawn, as it delivers exactly what it says on the box. And for only $6, why not give it a try?

●2. Mudrunner:

○Price: $4 (off from $20)

○Reviews: Very Positive

Sure, Mudrunner is not the newest game from the Spintires series, but if you’re debating on whether or not you should spend a lot of money on the new and improved Snowrunner, then its older brother, Mudrunner, is the perfect place to start!

This game offers a good amount of maps, missions, challenges, vehicles, and add-ons. But that’s not what I want to highlight here today! These might be the reasons you initially try the game, but the reason you’ll keep playing for hours and hours is another one: mod support!

Yes, you heard that right! Mod support is Mudrunner’s best asset. You can get hundreds more gameplay hours out of the game just with a few clicks. It really is that simple! Don’t believe me? Then try it yourself!

●3. Max Payne 3:

○Price: $7 (off from $20)

○Reviews: Very Positive

If you’ve been in the gaming space for a while, you must have already played this one! If, by some miracle you haven’t, then here’s what you need to know: it’s a game developed and published by Rockstar in 2012, with graphics and mechanics that were way ahead of their time!

I could try to tell you why this is such a cool video game for hours on end, but I think you’ve got the point. It’s one of the most beloved classics of the video game industry and it’s just $7. So go ahead and buy it right now!

●4. Doom Eternal:

○Price: $10 (off from $40)

○Reviews: Very Positive

If you liked Doom (2016), then this one’s going to blow you away. Doom Eternal is faster, mechanically impressive, and an all-around great time to have. Its soundtrack is one of the best (even though the jury’s still out on that for some people) and the finisher animations are as gory as you remember them!

If you like fast-paced first-person shooters, gore, and feeling like an unstoppable force of nature, Doom Eternal is the game for you!

●5. Batman Arkham Origins

○Price: $5 (off from $20)

○Reviews: Very Positive

Plot twists, riddles, street fights with mercenaries, and a solid ending. That’s the short version! If you want more explanation, you’ll just have to play the game! And while you’re at it, you can also get the whole Arkham series. Trust me, you won’t regret making this purchase!

●6. The Crew 2:

○Price: $10 (off from $50)

○Reviews: Very Positive

This one’s for the racing fans out there! We’ve all played tons of racing games set in an open world. But, maybe apart from the Forza Horizon series, the open world always starts feeling smaller after a while.

What if you could have the entirety of the U.S. as an open world? Well, now you can, and for just $10! The Crew 2 allows you to drive through all of the US. But the fun doesn’t stop there: you can also fly planes, drive boats, and switch between the 3 different modes of transportation on the go, with just the press of a button.

After factoring in constant updates, community challenges, monster trucks, destroyable cars with vastly different physics, and the fact that you can customize your very own mansion, The Crew 2 is a game you just can’t skip playing!

●7. Bioshock Infinite:

○Price: $7.5 (off from $30)

○Reviews: Very Positive

Yes, the first Bioshock has a special place in my heart. And yes, no game can live up to the “Would You Kindly?” reveal moment! I know, I know, but hear me out!

Bioshock Infinite tried doing something different. Not better, but different. That being said, from a technical perspective, it’s 100% better: runs smoother and has breath-taking graphics, without requiring you to have a computer from NASA in order to run it at 60 fps.

But I didn’t choose it just because it looks good. There are plenty of games out there that look better. I chose it because of 2 things: gameplay and story.

If you liked the first 2 games combat systems, I can guarantee you’ll like this one even better! Apart from some repetitive enemies, there is nothing to hold against the game in this department.

Now, about the story: it literally sent shivers down my spine the first time I played through it. I also spent somewhere between 2 hours and 37 days trying to understand the ending!

I’m sure you’ll love it if you give it a chance! And at $7.5, why not play it?

●8. Assassin’s Creed Syndicate:

○Price: $10 (off from $40)

○Reviews: Very Positive

AC Syndicate might not be the newest, biggest, cheapest, or even best game in the series, but it is a perfect fit for a late-night gameplay session!

Even though it came out waaaay back in 2015, it’s got better graphics than many games released years after. For real, Ubisoft really went all in on this game.

So glad they finally decided to actually deliver a full experience from day 1 after the disastrous launch of AC Unity! But we’ll talk about that another time!

As far as why I picked Syndicate for this list, I’m only going to explain it in one word: TRAIN!

Yeah, I’m one of those people who lost their mind when they heard about the mobile base coming to AC! Looking back, Syndicate was a revolutionary game for the franchise: the ability to switch between Jacob and Evie Frye throughout the story, the gang wars, and the horse carriages; were all a big leap forward for Assassin’s Creed and for gaming in general.

I could honestly write 10 articles on each AC game, so please spare me all that writing and go play AC Syndicate! Now let’s move on before I start playing it for the fifth time!

●9. The Witcher 3 Wild Hunt:

○Price: $6 (off from $30)

○Reviews: Overwhelmingly Positive

I’m sure you’ve heard about The Witcher series before. So you probably don’t need me to explain what the game is about. All you need is a little reminder to play the game!

It’s easy to get lost in the world of The Witcher 3 and forget about your IRL struggles. And that’s exactly why you should try playing it! The magic of it hides in the small details: every little side-quest can lead to an epic, unforgettable scene.

Most of those reading this already have The Witcher 3 in their library, so do yourself a favor and play it! Or, if you’ve already experienced Geralt’s journey, you can play through it again and take a different path this time!

●10. Sleeping Dogs (Definitive Edition):

○Price: $3 (off from $20)

○Reviews: Overwhelmingly Positive

Sleeping Dogs (Definitive Edition) is the cheapest game on this list, coming in at only $2.99! That’s an 85% discount from its normal price! So if I didn’t convince you to buy any of the above-mentioned games, then at least get this one!

Let me be straight with you: this is one of my personal favorites, so there’s a lot of bias on my part for this game making the list. But, hey, it’s my list, so here we are!

You’ll definitely enjoy Sleeping Dogs’ story, as well as its sprawling open world, full of activities, missions, and memorable characters! Just be careful at the wedding mission, because that’s where I died the most! You’ll see what I’m talking about when you get there!

The Definitive Edition also offers 2 DLCs. I won’t tell you anything about them, as I want you to go into them with no expectations. Just know that it’s a quirky, unique game, that you’ll definitely remember for a long time after playing it.

And that’s the end of the list! Make sure to give me a follow if you found this helpful! It really helps a lot!
