When games are ported to next-generation hardware, we expect them to be better. We expect them to be optimized to a certain degree thanks to the stronger hardware. Sometimes, these ports have extra content to go with them.

SNES ports may have lacked the optimized audiovisual quality on the GBA thanks to the limited hardware and screen size. However, many of them had extra content exclusive to the latter versions. Source
