Wii Sports is one of the most legendary games, probably ever.

Not because of the graphics or how popular it is, but because it is a fun, widespread, and loved classic.

In this article, I will be explaining why it came to be so well-known, as well as going through the different forms it has taken through the years.

Classic Wii Sports

In my opinion, it doesn’t get better than this.

Originally intended to show the capabilities of the Wii gaming system, it was sent out along with every new Wii back in 2006.

Wii Sports was supposed to be a fun first game for people with all sorts of gaming capabilities.

While it certainly isn’t a trendy or really talked-about game, everyone seems to know about it and/or has played it.

It’s as simple as that, and that’s why I love it so much! It’s a fun game, you can compete with friends in person, and it turned out very good for a game that came free with the Wii.

Wii Sports Resort

Many people choose this sequel over the original Wii Sports, and I honestly don’t blame them.

It has all the old charm and characteristics of the old version, but it added sports and an opening cutscene, as well as a new setting for all of it!

When it was released in 2009, the graphics were good and it seemed ahead of its time (much like the original Wii Sports).

I don’t have much more to say about Wii Sports Resort. It’s a good and simple game that I would recommend to nearly anyone!

Wii Sports Club

If I’m being honest, I hadn’t heard of this one until I was doing research for this article ten minutes ago.

It is a sort of updated version of the original Wii Sports but remade for the WiiU.

Wii Sports Club was released in 2013, so of course, there are differences in the graphics and overall gameplay. For example, the online multiplayer option.

That’s all that seems to be different from the original! Seeing as it is so similar, I would probably recommend it if you have a WiiU.

Nintendo Switch Sports

This is already one of the best selling Nintendo Switch games, despite being released just a few months ago.

There were… varied responses to this new and “improved” version of Wii Sports.

People argued about the new graphics, characters, avatars, online playing, sports, and competition.

Basically everything.

While Nintendo Switch Sports is perfect for those looking for a new game to play with all kinds of friends and family, it is almost an insult to people who prefer the original Wii Sports.

It truly isn’t that bad; it is just so different from the other games in the Wii Sports series that a lot of people don’t think it should even count as one of them.

While it’s true that it carries the original games as the rest of the games do, Nintendo Switch Sports lacks the charm that come with the others.

What with the different gameplay, graphics, and online option, it has become a very controversial topic in the gaming community.

Check it out for yourself, if you’d like! You could also find a plethora of videos discussing this new game if you aren’t sure.

I used information from these sites for Wii Sports, Wii Sports Resort, Wii Sports Club, and Nintendo Switch Sports.

Thank you for reading!
