During the summer of 2023, writers and actors went on strike for months to demand fair pay and to demand that producers take the artists’ wages and rights seriously.

Finally, the strike ended in favor of writers and actors, and there was hope that the productions would pick back up.

Cut to: 2024 Summer

There is no work in Hollywood!

Writers and actors are struggling while billion-dollar studios and producers cry about not having enough budget for new projects.

Usually, there would be a hundred new TV pilots in production right now, but only three new shows are in production.

THREE…

Everyone seems to believe that the reason for this is the economy and budget issues, but I know what really is going on.

It’s the greed of rich producers and studios because if your company is worth billions of dollars, you can’t tell me you don’t have a million for a new project.

I don’t buy it.

What we see in Hollywood is a reflection of what we see in the world.

As the rich get richer, the poor get poorer.

Thankfully, the indie world is thriving.

Don’t get me wrong, there are budget issues in the indie world because they don’t have billions of dollars.

But the artsy indie producers still make it work and create opportunities for us indie writers and actors.

My latest episode is below. This is the only way to support me currently.

After watching it fully, like the video and comment on YouTube:

What’s the recent movie you watched this year?

Was it indie or studio?

Did you like it?

Why do you think Hollywood movies are becoming less relatable?
