Some people scramble to come up with plans so they won’t be alone on New Year’s Eve

I took a different path this year. I put on a tuxedo so that I could sit on a couch by myself. (See photo above). There are many good reasons I did this. Here are the top 11 reasons I spent New Years’ Eve alone, wearing a tux on a sofa — instead of partying with friends.

1. I felt like a million bucks.

There’s something about dressing up that makes you feel good — Even if you’re all dressed up and nowhere to go.

2. I learned that my tux needs hemming.

What if I had waited until I REALLY needed a tux, and found out that one of the pants seams was dragging. It’s a good thing I put on my tux last night — that way I got a leg up on taking it to the tailor before I am invited to my next formal.

3. I learned that my tux is a bit small.

I’m guessing that I’ll have to lose at least another five to ten pounds before go to that cocktail party. This means that last night I got a leg up on knowing that I need to trim down…
