2 Non-obvious Positive Effects of Interval Fasting on Your Body

Interval fasting can benefit you not only in losing weight

Many stars practice interval fasting to maintain their beauty and health. Jennifer Aniston, Kourtney Kardashian, Scarlett Johansson, Reese Witherspoon, and others. And it’s not a new trend-the benefits of short-term fasting are scientifically proven.

There is a lot of talk about the benefits of interval fasting. But today I want to tell you two things people forget to pay attention to.

Interval Fasting Can Save You from a Dangerous Disease

Insulin is almost the leading player in accumulating and dropping excess weight. Yes, insulin handles that delicious ice cream is sticking with you for a long time in the belly area. But this function is vital to our body.

There is such a dangerous condition of the body as insulin resistance.

It reduces the sensitivity of insulin-dependent cells to the action of insulin. Consequently, it disrupts the metabolism of glucose and its entry into the cells.

In simple terms, the ice cream we ate earlier doesn’t go to the sides; it circulates through the blood. It increases the level of glucose in the blood. Like corrosion, glucose “corrodes” all organs. The eyes, the kidneys, the nerves, and the heart suffer the most.

In the early stages, insulin resistance has almost no effect on well-being. Changes in blood tests can only detect the deviation. But in the later stages, a person begins to feel all the side effects of high glucose levels. Such a condition is called type 2 diabetes mellitus.

Researchers at Central Michigan University College of Medicine did a meta-analysis in 2021. They concluded that intermittent fasting consistently lowers insulin levels.

Lower insulin levels leads to improved susceptibility to this hormone. The therapeutic fasting method will help reduce resistance since it steadily increases insulin. As a bonus, you’ll also be losing weight better.

Interval Fasting Has the Potential to Affect Your Aging

Science divides hormones into youth hormones and hormones accompanying aging processes. The most rejuvenating of them is somatotropin, also called human growth hormone (GH).

And here’s a little more extensive answer to why growth hormone is beneficial:

It promotes protein formation, increases primary metabolism. It regulates the amount of water in the body, has the potential to slow the aging process, and thickens bones. Fights atherosclerosis by reducing LDL cholesterol levels and increasing HDL cholesterol levels.

GH improves cognitive functions. It affects the increase in the number of connections between neurons in the brain. Due to which a person feels more focused and productive, it calms the nervous system.

Interval fasting increases your production of growth hormones. This effect is because insulin inhibits growth hormone production. Insulin itself is the main enemy of growth hormones.

The Bottom Line That You Have to Read

Interval fasting practitioners can be found all over the world. Many studies have suggested a pronounced benefit of this type of diet.

If you want to try this type of diet, I urge you to take it seriously. Interval fasting is radically different from all of today’s popular diets.

If you don’t have any experience, find a good nutritionist who can advise where to start. And if you have any problems with your health, talk to your family doctor.
